Who are you and what do you do?
Hello! I'm Kristin and I make Scandinavian-inspired candles. From lutefisk to gingersnap cookie and hockey bag to lefse, you'll find a collection of scents you won’t find anywhere else.
How did you get started in your art / business?
I had a funny idea to make a lutefisk-scented candle - it took me a couple years to figure out how to do it! I launched and the next week, I was on the news and the segment was picked up around the world!
What has been your favorite moment since creating your art/business?
My favorite so far has been finally bringing a lutefisk-scented candle (yes, really!) to the world! It has become my mission to bring smiles and giggles to a heavy world thru some candles!
What motivates you to create?
Uff Da Candles mission is to bring smiles and giggles to a heavy world! I make candles that inspire nostalgia, family connection, and laughter. Smells are often associated with specific moments or places, and can evoke strong, often emotional, memories.
What do your customers love most about your product(s)?
That they are unique and hilarious - but I also have some candles that smell great! These are not boring old candles that people forget - these candles will make you the most memorable gift-giver around.
Will you be featuring any special holiday items?
The officially licensed National Lampoon's Christmas-scented candles! Christmas movie classic scents like Cousin Eddie’s Egg Nog, Pine Tree Sap and even a “Shitters Full” will be available at the show – Come smell them!
What will you be bringing to the Gift & Art Expo for attendees to purchase?
My whole candle line which includes: lutefisk, lefse, gingersnap, pickles, frasier fir, hockey bag, lingonberry, maple syrup - and a few National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation-scented candles! Make sure to stop by and "take the lutefisk challenge! "
